Process ownership creates value

Link SAP configuration to commercial KPIs, data quality, controls and adoption.

Understand the value chain. Configuration answers how a system behaves; business-process expertise determines what behaviour should achieve. Map order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report and plan-to-produce across departments, including exceptions, controls and data ownership.

Bridge functional and commercial decisions. A finance transformation must define close speed, margin transparency and control effectiveness; a supply-chain transformation may target inventory, fulfilment and throughput. Each target needs a baseline, sponsor and operating changes outside SAP.

Design the team differently. Combine functional SAP consultants with process owners, finance and operations leaders, integration specialists, change management and enterprise architecture. Give process owners decision rights, not merely workshop attendance.

Govern benefits after go-live. Treat adoption, data quality and continuous improvement as part of the programme. Use a CoE to manage a business-prioritised backlog; track realised benefits, technical debt and service cost over time.
